In the summer of 2011, I produced Quick Pitches: A Star-Studded Lineup of Original Sports Fiction—ESPN’s first eBook—publishing a Kindle Edition (and POD paperback) that collected together stories from ESPN The Magazine’s Fiction Issue. This product was a test of the time and resources required to put out a straightforward text-driven reflowable eBook. In addition to doing the eBook and print book production, I designed the interiors of the eBook and POD paperback and commissioned the covers from ESPN’s in-house consumer products design group.
